Holztypenfabrik Roman Scherer AG, Luzern. ca 1905. Roman Scherer
(† 1922) was the first and only known wood type manufacturer in
Switzerland. His firm produced rifle stocks and various wooden furniture. In 1996, the manufacture closed and was bought by the swiss
foundry Haas’sche Schriftgießerei. Since then, no new material was
produced, but an after-sales service was provided by Haas to replace or
fix the old Scherer material.
